Hangar rash
Minor impact damage to an airframe caused by ground handling — tugs, stands, doors, other aircraft. It presents as scuffs, transferred paint and dents around wingtips, tails and door edges.
What it means
Minor impact damage to an airframe caused by ground handling — tugs, stands, doors, other aircraft. It presents as scuffs, transferred paint and dents around wingtips, tails and door edges.
Why it matters
Transferred paint often polishes out; a dent does not. Distinguishing the two before quoting avoids a bad conversation later.
