Transparency
The aviation term for a window, windshield or canopy panel. Most are acrylic or stretched acrylic rather than glass, which makes them far softer and easily scratched by the wrong media.

Why it matters
A glass cleaner and a paper towel will haze an acrylic transparency permanently. Replacement is expensive.
