What it means
Aircraft on ground — an unplanned situation preventing an aircraft from flying, or an urgent requirement that must be met before a departure can proceed. In an appearance context it usually means a cabin or exterior condition discovered close to a scheduled departure.
Why it matters
AOG work is dispatched outside normal hours and priced accordingly. The premium buys a crew that drops what it is doing.
