Paint correction
Machine polishing that removes a controlled amount of clear coat or single-stage paint to eliminate swirl marks, oxidation and light scratching. It is a subtractive process — material is removed, not added — so it can only be done a finite number of times over an airframe’s life.

Why it matters
Correction restores gloss that washing cannot. Because it consumes finish, it should be done deliberately and followed by protection.
